This group of earrings are from my Wave Enamel Collection. Enamel is sifted over a copper base (front and back) and then, using the sgraffito method a sharp instrument is used to “scratch through” to the base color. Each piece is then fired in a 1450 degree kiln to melt the enamels. What results is a one-of-a-kind design that resembles waves and other organic subjects. No two are alike; however I try to match each up to a complimentary piece to create the pair. Even using the same colors, the designs will never be an exact match and I think that makes enamel earrings so magical.
